Arbortext Adapter to Oracle

Arbortext Adapter to Oracle (formerly Repository Adapter to Oracle CM/SDK) improves reuse, collaboration and publishing through its seamless integration between Oracle's Content Management SDK and PTC's Arbortext Editor and the Arbortext Publishing Engine. With the adapter, Arbortext users can create, capture and reuse information in XML using Arbortext Editor, manage that information in Oracle CM/SDK, and automatically publish that information to multiple types of media using Arbortext Publishing Engine.

The adapter provides the ability to create information at a topic level, store it within the Oracle CM/SDK repository and reuse the topics in a variety of compound documents. By managing content as separate topic components-which can be made up of text, graphics, audio, video or anything you need to manage separately-multiple authors can simultaneously collaborate on different sections, or topics, of the same compound document. In conjunction with the Arbortext Publishing Engine, the adapter also enables automatic publishing to multiple media and audiences from Oracle CM/SDK.

The Arbortext Adapter for Oracle is a fully functional, out-of-the-box optional component available separately for Arbortext Editor. The adapter technology is built into Arbortext Publishing Engine for a direct connection to Oracle CM/SDK.

The adapter includes both client-side and server-side modules. The client-side module is an optionally installed module delivered with Arbortext Editor. Licensing is based on the server-side capability which scales depending on the number of servers and the number of CPUs per server.
